Germany offers black money data, India dithers

Anil,Bangalore, says:Instead of giving details of the offer, TOI is instead concentrating on the soft side... They should have done enough investigation... Journalism needs rigour... Claims like this come one day and disappear next day... I remember once TOI claimed Dawood was in custody... It day made good sale for one day but next day they found something else...

Sanjeev Singhal,Delhi, says:Do you think that Govt of India will ever accept this offer? I don't think so. The onus will have to be on responsible media or even Transparency International to obtain the details and expose the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats who, like leeches and white ants, are destroying our country and its social fabric. The vested interests of those in power or out of power will never ever allow this data to be obtained. We are expecting too much if we think the these "dacoits" are going to expose themselves.[21 May, 2008 1059hrs IST]
